Questions To Ask Movers
(If Applicable to Your Move)
These could be surprise charges on move day.
- Do you have to pay for disassembly and reassembly of beds, dressers with mirrors, some computer desks, or any furniture that needs to be taken apart and put back together?
- Door removal in apartment or houses to get large furniture in or out.
- Door removal of appliances (refrigerator etc…)
- Washer dryer hookup.
- Packing material tape, paper, bubble wrap, quilted blankets.
- Travel time charge (on hourly moves).
- Extra man power (more men complete move).
KEEP THESE IDEAS IN MIND AS MOVE DAY DRAWS CLOSER
These simple things would save you time on move day, which will save you money.
- Clear corridors stairways, and entrances.
- Prepare a parking space/s as close as possible to move out, and move in location, so mover can park truck easily.
- Pack and label all boxes before move day.
- Disassemble/ reassemble furniture (if applicable) if you can.
- Reserve elevator (if applicable).
- Be there or have someone there to answer questions from movers, or give instructions at pick-up and drop off location.
- Put post-it sticker on items to be moved. Important please note: Remember if post it stickers fall on the floor remove them immediately, to prevent someone from slipping or falling. You can also use painters tape, that is used by painters and auto body paint shops to stick to items to be moved, writing on tape where items goes at new place. Important please note: Not to stick tape on painted or lacquer surface, also on light colored fabric, glue from tape could damage these surfaces.
